I just got motivated to dabble in some wire wrapped jewelry. It is one of the oldest techniques for making handmade jewelry. Examples of wire and beaded jewelry made using wire wrapping techniques date back to thousands of years B.C. It was found in artifacts from the Sumerian Dynasty, Ancient Greece Ancient Rome, the Celts and Vikings. Here are my attempts at some basic beaded rings of Celtic inspiration in 2025. Definitely plan to refine my technique and tighten those spirals!
Here is a gift for Anubh de Mona for her Laureling at Pennsic 2025. It's a Celtic spiral ring with lapis beads. I attempted to flatten the wire to make the spirals tighter. Still working on that technique! I also hand-sewed her a little jewelry pouch to go with it from leftover fabric from my attempt at Hanfu garb with a fingerloop braid drawstring.
